YEAR OF AWARENESS

Watkins Insurance Group believes in caring for, and participating in our communities. In February, Watkins Insurance Group is promoting awareness of American Heart Month. On Friday, February 03 Watkins celebrated 'National Wear Red Day' to raise awareness of the dangers of heart disease in women.  The next couple months will have us focused on Nutrition (March) and Autism Awareness (April).  Details on the various ways we’ll support these (and other) causes are coming soon!

JANUARY

January was National Volunteer Blood Donor Month and Watkins Insurance Group was excited to join the cause! On January 24th, our Austin office held a blood drive.  We’re proud to announce that we exceeded our requested donor amount!  Generosity was contagious as we even had a neighbor who happened to be taking a walk by our office stop in and donate.
Blood donation is vital for:

•  Children & adults living with cancer
•  Those having surgery
•  Car (or other accident) survivors
•  Children & Adults recovering from some illnesses & injuries - http://www.inyourhands.org/donationfaq.php

FEBRUARY

February is American Heart Month, a cause as close to our hearts as you can get!  On Friday, February 3rd, Watkins celebrated 'National Wear Red Day' to raise awareness of the dangers of heart disease in women.  Many of us learned for the first time that Heart Disease is the #1 killer of American women and overall kills an estimated 630,000 American men and women each year!  In the U.S., heart disease is THE leading cause of death.
