Patrick Watkins, President of Watkins Insurance Group, proudly served as president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) in 2012-2013. IIAT is the nation’s second largest state association of independent insurance agencies, representing nearly 1,800 agencies and 15,000 agents and industry professionals. Mr. Watkins served IIAT as president-elect from 2011 – 2012, vice president from 2010 – 2011, and was named the IIAT Young Agent of the Year in 2005. He holds the Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager professional designations and is the past president of the Independent insurance Agents of Austin.

Marketing Philosophy

We don’t move accounts from one carrier to another just to save a few dollars. We believe in building relationships with clients and carriers—including longstanding relationships with individual underwriters—and acting as the advocate for our clients in their relationships with carriers. Staying with a particular insurance company, rather than switching carriers year after year, helps to build a strong partnership that will yield better results and better service over the long term. In return, we expect carriers to keep pricing and coverage availability current as markets evolve, in order to better cultivate and maintain those long-term relationships with us and with our clients.
