Patrick Watkins, CIC, CRM


Patrick Watkins is President of Watkins Insurance Group, a shareholder in the business, and an active insurance agent and advisor. Watkins Insurance Group is one of the largest and fastest-growing independent insurance agencies in Texas. Since starting with the family business in 1994, the Austin-based firm has grown from a four-member staff to over 125 insurance professionals in locations across central and east Texas. Since stepping into the agency President role in 2002, Patrick has led Watkins Insurance Group to provide a wide range of business insurance, bonds, personal insurance, and employee benefit lines.

Patrick is an active member of the insurance community and holds both the designation of Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Patrick was named Young Agent of the Year by IIAT in 2005 and served as President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) in 2011-2012. He is past-President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Austin and has held numerous board and committee roles over the years. He was the youngest member to receive the Independent Insurance Agents of Austin (IIAA) President’s Award at age 31. In addition, he has been asked to serve on several agent advisory councils including Travelers, America First, Central Mutual, Safeco, The Hartford, and United Fire. Most recently, Watkins Insurance Group has had the honor of being named a 2018 Best Practices Agency in an annual study by the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (IIABA) and Reagan Consulting.

In the local community, Patrick served as President of the Austin chapter of the Community Associations Institute from 2008-2010. He currently serves on the Board of the Austin Symphony and is an Advisory Board Member of Caritas. Patrick is also a member of Entrepreneurs’ Organization and Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). Patrick continues to encourage community involvement within Watkins Insurance Group which in recent years has benefitted such organizations as the Austin Children’s Shelter, Susan G. Komen, Toys for Tots, the Austin Humane Society, Austin Pets Alive, and the Blood and Tissue Center of Central Texas.

When Patrick isn’t spending time with his wife and four children, he enjoys hunting and fishing.


Rodney Watkins

Rodney Watkins, CIC, CRM

President – IAAT/Shareholder

Rodney Watkins joined Watkins Insurance Group in 1994 at the urging of his uncle, David Watkins. Rodney is a current shareholder with Watkins Insurance Group and Insurance Agents Alliance of Texas (IAAT . Rodney serves as President of IAAT.

Rodney is active in the East Texas community previously serving as Mayor of Mineola, and a board member for UT Health East Texas hospital in Quitman. Past positions include a trustee on the Mineola Independent School Board, Mineola City Councilman, President Wood County Chamber of Commerce, President Mineola Chamber of Commerce, President Leadership Lake Country, President of Mineola Youth Foundation, President Mineola Optimist Club, President of Mineola Advocates for Safe Schools, Chairman of the Certified Retirement Community Designation program for the City Of Mineola and board member for Main Street Mineola.

Rodney was awarded the Honorary Chapter FFA degree by the Mineola FFA in 1998, Mineola Man of the Year by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce in 2001, and the Community Builder Award by the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas in 2006.

Professional involvement includes serving on the IIAT Board of Directors for 2015 and 2016 and as Regional Vice President for IMPACT (the largest insurance-producer political action program in Texas). Past positions include serving on the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) Budget and Finance Committee, elected President of Independent Insurance Agents of Tyler and serving on agent advisory committees for various insurance carriers. Rodney has earned the prestigious professional designations of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM).

Rodney spends his spare time being actively involved in political and community activities that benefit both the insurance industry as well as customers.

Matt Womack

Matt Womack, CIC, CRM

Vice President/Shareholder

Matt joined Watkins Insurance Group in August 2003 and in 2008 was named Partner. He has earned the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and a Certified Risk Manager (CRM).

Well respected in the insurance community, Matt served as President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Austin (IIAA), Regional Vice-President of IMPACT (the political fundraising arm of IIAT) and Chair of the 2012 “Big I” Junior National Championship Golf Tournament. In 2008 Matt was named the ‘Young Agent of the Year’ by the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT).

An Austin native, Matt is dedicated to his community and is proudly serving as Chair of the Board for Austin Children’s Shelter. In years prior, he was President of Choose Austin First, a Young Agent Committee Chair of IIAT, and a Board Member of the Lake Travis Education Foundation. Matt has also volunteered his time to numerous committees and causes including Family Eldercare, the Austin Technology Council and Lake Hills Church.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys golfing, biking, hunting, fishing and any University of Texas sporting event. His favorite activity however is spending time with his wife and three daughters.

Brent Howell

Vice President – Employee Benefits/Shareholder

Brent Howell joined Watkins Insurance Group in September of 2012 as Vice President of Employee Benefits and is a partner in the agency. Having established himself as a respected Group Benefits Consultant for four years prior, Brent brings valuable and insightful skills to an already stellar Watkins Employee Benefits team. He specializes in innovative cost/plan management solutions including 3-year plans to curve rising program costs. A member of AHRMA, Brent’s experienced use of strategic and analytical measures allow him to skillfully negotiate carrier terms and conditional renewals.

Brent has a deep appreciation for listening and learning about his client’s objectives. It is his goal to see that organization’s benefit objectives are met and exceeded, by providing tailored consulting and servicing that eases the burden of his client’s own administrative HR resources.

Howell holds a BBA from Texas A&M University where he played baseball throughout his college career. He enjoys hunting, fishing and coaching his kids’ youth soccer teams. His “most favorite” times are those spent with his wife and three daughters.

Andy Webb

Andy Webb joined Watkins Insurance Group in August of 2010. Andy was named a shareholder of Watkins Insurance Group in September of 2011. An alumnus of Texas A&M University, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Leadership Development. Andy began his career in the insurance industry in 2002 and was named the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) Young Agent of the Year 2012-2013.

He is an active member of the Round Rock and Georgetown Chambers of Commerce including a member of the inaugural class of ASCEND and served as chairman of Leadership Round Rock from 2009 to 2016. Andy is honored to have received the inaugural Round Rock Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Award in 2013 and Investor of the Year award in 2015. Other community boards include the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and CHASCO Family YMCA Board of Directors. He has served as IIAT’s Young Agent Advisory committee past chair, a board member of the Williamson County A&M Club and Foundation, and was Chairman of the 2013 Texas Leadership Forum through the John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute of the University of Texas of the Permian Basin. Other service includes being a board member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Austin (IIA – Austin) and Board of Directors of IMPACT, the political action committee of IIAT. Andy has served on the City of Georgetown’s Planning and Zoning Committee since 2014 and the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation Board since 2016.

In 2013, Andy was elected to serve on the Georgetown Independent School District Board of Trustees in Place 3 and re-elected in 2016 for another three year term.

When not working, Andy loves spending time in the country with his family.

Sheila Noxon

Sheila Noxon, CIC, CISR

Vice President – Commercial Lines/Shareholder

Sheila Pennington Noxon joined Watkins Insurance Group in September of 2005 as the firm’s Operations Manager. In 2009, Noxon was appointed as a Shareholder of the quickly-growing agency and in 2010 she became the Commercial Lines Department Manager. Watkins Insurance Group is now one of the largest and fastest-growing independent insurance agencies in Texas. With over 35 years of industry experience, Sheila leads the day-to-day needs of the firm and its professionals as the Vice President of Operations.

Throughout Sheila’s career, she has maintained positions of leadership in the regional insurance community. She served on the board of the Independent Insurance Agents of Austin and the Austin Association of Insurance Professionals. She is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, the Federation of Insurance Women of Texas, and the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors. She has served on multiple agency councils. Sheila is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR).

Sheila is a member of Sunset Canyon Baptist Church in Dripping Springs, Texas. She has two grown sons, Jake and Luke. In her free time, she loves to travel with her husband Roger.

Hanna Ogle

Hanna Ogle, CIC, CRM, CPRM

Vice President – Personal Lines/Shareholder

Hanna joined Watkins Insurance Group in 2005 as the Personal Lines Manager of the Austin location and became a shareholder in Dec 2013. Prior to that, she held positions with Progressive Insurance Company as well as two independent insurance agencies in Austin and in California. She attended Hawaii Pacific University where she graduated with an Associates in Business Management and St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communications, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

While at Watkins Insurance Group she has obtained her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designations through The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research and is now pursuing the Personal Risk Manager designation.

A commitment to the success of the independent agent channel has led her to volunteer in multiple capacities within the Industry. She has previously served as the Chair of the Industry Solution Committee for the Applied Client Network and currently serves on the Travelers Agency Automation National Council, the Hartford Personal Lines Agent Advisory Council, and has served on the Central Insurance Company CSR Advisory Committee in the past.

Hanna and her husband Chuck chose Liberty Hill, Texas as their home. She finds great enjoyment in being her son’s biggest fan while watching him play football, running track, or hunting. Because of her daughter’s love for horses, the two of them have become very involved in the United States Pony Club where Hanna serves as a Joint District Commissioner for Hill Top Pony Club.

Greg Meserole

Executive Vice President/Risk Manager/Shareholder

With 30 years in the insurance industry, Greg brings an extensive amount of knowledge as a well-rounded insurance advocate. He specializes in creating insurance solutions for business owners and investors. There is no single approach that works well for every client. Greg focuses on building long-term relationships with business leaders to provide risk management and property & casualty insurance solutions tailored to meet their individual needs.

Greg joined Watkins Insurance Group in May 2018 after serving as the Austin president of another independent agency. Greg holds a Bachelors degree in Finance from Stephen F. Austin University. He also has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation from the National Alliance of Insurance Education & Research.

When Greg is away from the office, he serves on the WGC Dell Match Play Host Committee. He enjoys playing golf and other outdoor activities with his family.

Scott McGuire

Vice President/Risk Manager/Shareholder

Scott McGuire joined Watkins Insurance Group in May of 2018 in the role of Vice President after serving in the role of Vice President for another independent agency.

Throughout Scott’s insurance career, he has focused on understanding his client’s business, needs, and goals which contribute to their success. He strives to be an extension of their team by applying all of his agency’s resources.

Scott is active in the community through numerous charitable events. He is a partner of the Fly Fishing Film Tour – Austin. He serves as a volunteer/donor for Foster Angels of Central Texas, which raises money for various organizations helping kids get outdoors. Scott is a state board member for the Coastal Conservation Association of Texas. He also is a volunteer/donor for Kids Outdoor Zone, whose objective is to train up men in churches to serve as role models for young men in this community.

Scott holds a Bachelors degree from Southwest Texas. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and generally being outdoors with his family.

Chris Scott

Chris Scott

Vice President – Finance and Operations / Shareholder

Chris Scott joined Watkins Insurance Group in 2017 and was named a shareholder in 2020. He is an experienced finance professional with a talent for developing detailed financial and operational plans, building relationships, and providing strategic, but practical, solutions for a wide variety of complex business problems.

Despite being a native Austinite, Chris attended Texas A&M University where he studied Finance and was active in several different student organizations. After graduation, he returned to Austin and worked as a commercial banker where re he gained experience in a wide range of credit, cash management, construction and other specialty finance products and services.

After earning MBA from The University of Texas at Austin, Chris worked in the student loan industry for where he focused on finance, marketing, and business development.

Chris is active in the community and is member of several different professional and community organizations including Financial Executives International and the CFO Leadership Council. He currently serves as the Treasurer for the Williamson County A&M Club.

Chris’ favorite way to spend time is with his family; he also greatly enjoys cooking and, when time allows, he has also been known to hunt, fish, play golf, and participate in competitive shooting.
